Job Summary
Solutions Architect to design, assess, and implement insurance tools, collaborate with global/local architects, document solution components, advise on configurations and integrations, and support API development and data flow across internal systems and external vendors. Role involves cloud-native integration patterns, Azure-based tooling (Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management, Logic Apps), adherence to security and data-governance standards, and collaboration with business analysts and developers to translate requirements into scalable architectures for commercial insurance products.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of hands-on software development or technical engineering experience
- Experience designing and supporting enterprise application solutions across multiple platforms and technologies
- Strong understanding of application integration concepts, including APIs, messaging patterns, event-driven architectures, and data synchronization approaches
- Ability to evaluate vendor solutions and recommend fit-for-purpose architectures
- Experience working within distributed application landscapes, including internally developed systems and thirdparty/vendor platforms
- Experience designing solutions using Microsoft-centric integration tools including Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Logic Apps, and API Management
- Understanding of legal, contract, and compliance considerations in solution architecture, including vendor solution assessments and enterprise architecture governance
- Any experience in building agentic AI for use in underwriting submission intake and scoring with Guidewire PolicyCenter would be a bonus skill
- Working knowledge of RESTful and SOAP-based web services
- Experience with data transformation, mapping, and integration patterns across systems
- Familiarity with integration middleware or iPaaS solutions (e.g., MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or similar technologies)
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB) for integration scenarios
- Exposure to modern data platforms such as Snowflake or equivalent industry tools (Databricks, BigQuery)
- Experience with cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, or similar)
- Understanding of deployment models, scalability, availability, performance, and security in cloud environments
- Exposure to SaaS platforms and lifecycle management, including versioning, upgrades, and vendor-driven change
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and modern CI/CD approaches within Microsoft-centric environments
- Understanding of insurance or financial services business processes, including underwriting, policy administration, claims, billing, and related integrations
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions while balancing delivery and architecture
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience collaborating with architects, developers, business analysts, QA, and external vendors
- Experience producing architectural documentation, integration designs, diagrams, and decision records
- Proficiency with collaboration and documentation tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Teams, Jira/Confluence, LeanIX and SharePoint
