Job Summary
Solution Design Engineer who bridges business requirements and operational reality for scalable intralogistics concepts powering European Distribution Centers. Owns end-to-end conceptualization of warehouse solutions, translates volume forecasts and technology capabilities into practical concepts to improve throughput, safety, and cost performance. Responsibilities include designing robust intralogistics concepts (storage strategies, labor models, material handling), data modeling of order profiles and seasonality, optimizing footprints with automation like sorters and conveyors, defining functional requirements for WMS/WCS and KPI visibility, preparing ROI/business cases, supporting UAT and handover, and collaborating with procurement and stakeholders. Requires deep knowledge of inbound/outbound processes, slotting, and warehouse KPIs; proficiency with AutoCAD and advanced Excel; travel to European sites as needed; independent, cross-functional collaboration in a hybrid setup.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics engineering, warehouse design, or intralogistics automation
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field
- Practical experience with WMS, WCS, and ERP interfaces
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus
- Willingness to travel occasionally to European sites and supplier locations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel (advanced modeling), and PowerPoint
- Experience with warehouse simulation software, Miro, Signavio, SolidWorks is a plus
