Job Summary
Act as the liaison between Domain Architects and DevOps teams to translate business vision into effective solution designs for Financial Market's IPA Pricing Engines. Execute the global Business & IT Roadmap process, document "as-is" and "to-be" processes, and organize workshops to facilitate design decisions. Design Proof of Concepts for engineering teams, apply patterns like Event-driven and Microservices, and ensure code development aligns with architectural guidelines and regulatory requirements. Coach engineers on ING standards and escalate non-compliance instances. This role supports the Wholesale Baking Centre of Excellence in optimizing technology infrastructure, scalability, and reliability for next-gen architecture.
Required Qualifications
- At least seven years of experience as an engineer or architect
- Experience working in highly regulated environments (e.g., financial institutions)
- Understanding of Financial Markets, pricing, valuation, risk management and the role of pricing engines in front office and risk processes
- Knowledge of Java and C++
- Experience in developing trading/e-trading applications and taking into consideration low-latency requirements
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical topics to diverse audiences
- Strong ability to build collaborative partnerships with organizational leaders
- A continuous improvement mindset—constantly enhancing your skills while mentoring and training others
- Previous experience in roles such as back-end or quantitative analysis engineer
- In-depth knowledge of IT architecture methodologies (e.g., TOGAF), service management processes, and agile work environments
