Job Summary
Perform heavy manual labor in the collection and removal of refuse, trash, brush, and solid waste. Duties include picking up and emptying refuse into the truck, handling bulky items, operating loading/compacting/dumping mechanisms, directing the truck operator during backing and collection, and performing vehicle maintenance as needed. Requires ability to work in unfavorable weather, follow written and oral instructions, and establish effective working relationships; HS diploma or GED is desirable. Safety-consciousness and knowledge of refuse-collection equipment are important.

- Completion of training sufficient to read and write at a level necessary for adequate job performance
- Possession of a High School Diploma or GED is desirable
