Job Summary
Act for insolvency practitioners on formal appointments and distressed M&A transactions, while advising banks and creditors on security, enforcement, intercreditor issues, and balance sheet structuring. Manage a broad mix of advisory and transactional work across property, corporate, and banking matters, often in a fast-paced environment. Apply legal principles to diverse scenarios including bespoke commercial arrangements and strategic advisory. Join the Auckland-based Restructuring and Insolvency team alongside partners Scott Abel and Mace Gorringe, supported by senior mentors committed to your development.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years' PQE in private practice in New Zealand or another Commonwealth jurisdiction
- Experience in negotiated debt, property, corporate or commercial transactions with exposure to security work, such as security and intercreditor aspects of transactions, or security enforcement
- Some familiarity with the PPSA and Property Law Act, in a security context
- A genuinely generalist mindset

- The ability to think on your feet and find solutions
Desired Qualifications
- Around 2-5 years' PQE in private practice in New Zealand or another Commonwealth jurisdiction
- Experience in insolvency and restructuring
- Transactional and advisory experience in property, corporate and/or banking
- Exposure to distressed work
- An interest in insolvency and restructuring
