Job Summary

Draft pleadings, correspondence, and court documents for civil and criminal litigation files while managing commercial and property law matters. Conduct legal research to prepare memoranda and case summaries, then maintain client records in Smokeball to ensure compliance. Liaise with clients, counsel, and courts to support solicitors on active files, escalating risk items promptly. Meet tight deadlines across multiple cases while adhering to NSW court procedures and practice directions.

Required Qualifications

  • Admitted to practice in New South Wales (NSW)
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on civil litigation experience
  • Proficient in Smokeball
  • Prior experience working within an Australian legal environment
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Sound legal judgment
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload independently

Desired Qualifications

  • Criminal litigation experience
  • Experience working in a remote or offshore legal support capacity for an Australian firm
  • Familiarity with NSW court procedures, filing requirements, and local practice directions
  • Exposure to additional practice areas beyond litigation (e.g. conveyancing, family law, wills and estates)
