Job Summary
Solicitor in Nhulunbuy, NT providing culturally appropriate legal assistance primarily in Family Law, Family Violence, and Child Protection matters. Deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed representation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients; maintain accurate client files and data; contribute to community legal education; prepare reports and presentations for community forums; travel to remote communities for outreach and client support; operate within a collaborative cross-cultural team; meet requirements for an unrestricted practising certificate, WWCC, and Criminal History Check; willingness to travel overnight to remote communities; role includes relocation assistance with housing available in Nhulunbuy.
Required Qualifications
- Unrestricted practising certificate in the NT
- A minimum of 2 years post-admission experience
- Experience with Indigenous clients, especially victims of family violence in remote communities
- WWCC and clear Criminal History Check
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
