Job Summary

Solicitor in Motor & Casualty insurance defence litigation handling a varied caseload within the County Court framework. Key duties include interviewing witnesses, drafting statements and pleadings, instructing counsel, attending conferences, mediations and court hearings (in person or by phone), and maintaining case management information. You will work within the Motor team, pursue files in line with client instructions, build relationships with colleagues, clients and third parties, and contribute to achieving performance targets and quality standards. The role requires a Law Degree and qualification as a Solicitor with 0-5 years PQE; prior defence insurance litigation experience is desirable. Hybrid working is offered, with core hours 9am–5pm, Monday to Friday, and a flexible approach to longer hours to meet targets.

Required Qualifications

  • Law Degree & qualified Solicitor
  • 0-5 years PQE in defence insurance litigation
  • experience in motor injury, fraud and credit hire cases desirable
  • good telephone advocacy and communication skills
  • ability to work to targets and deadlines
  • excellent IT and client-care skills
