Job Summary
Provide timely, accurate, and practical legal advice across complex and sensitive matters, including coronial inquests, inquiries, and court proceedings. Conduct litigation, advocacy, and inquiry work while preparing submissions, witness statements, and briefing notes. Perform legal research to inform strategy and build relationships with government clients, stakeholders, and Counsel. Manage a varied caseload with sound judgment and resilience, ensuring compliance with legislation and professional obligations. Report to a Senior Solicitor within the DCJ Legal Inquests, Inquiries and Representation team.
Required Qualifications
- Legal qualifications
- eligibility to hold a practising certificate as a Government Legal Practitioner issued by the Law Society of NSW
- ability to undertake travel for regional court and other commitments
- National Criminal History Record Check
- Working with Children Check clearance
