Job Summary
Solicitor to join NAAFLS Katherine, NT; provide culturally appropriate legal assistance primarily in Family Law, Family Violence, and Child Protection for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients; travel to remote communities; ensure trauma-informed, culturally safe service delivery; contribute to community legal education and reporting; 2+ years post-admission experience; unrestricted practising certificate in NT; WWCC and Driver’s Licence required; relocation assistance available.
Required Qualifications
- Unrestricted practising certificate in the NT
- Willing to travel overnight to remote communities (up to two trips of 2–4 days per month)
- Able to obtain a Working with Children Clearance (WWCC) and clear Criminal History Check
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
- Experience providing culturally sensitive legal services to Indigenous clients, especially victims of family violence in remote communities
