Job Summary

Provide legal advice and representation to clients in criminal, family, and civil law, including duty and casework services, in accordance with Legal Aid NSW policies and guidelines. Manage competing priorities and caseloads while explaining complex legal concepts to clients from diverse and vulnerable backgrounds. Travel to regional and metropolitan offices as required to support the mission of delivering high-quality legal services across NSW. This role is part of a busy mixed practice at the Albury office, which sits on the northern bank of the Murray River. The position offers flexible working options and professional growth opportunities through mentoring and training programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Be admitted or eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW
  • Provide a current NSW Practising Certificate before you start work with us
  • NSW Drivers Licence
  • Be willing to travel to regional and metropolitan offices as required
  • Hold Australian or NZ citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing roles) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary roles)
  • Willingness to undertake relevant pre-employment checks such as Working with Children Check, Criminal Record Check, and Conduct Service Check

  • You are confident using legal technology and case management systems
