Job Summary
Deliver outreach services to Aboriginal communities and provide high-quality civil law advice, minor assistance and casework across a broad range of civil matters as part of a multidisciplinary team across Central Sydney, Lismore, Orange and Nowra. Work with Aboriginal communities under the Civil Law Service for Aboriginal Communities (CLSAC), collaborating with senior solicitors, a social worker, community engagement manager, and a financial counsellor. Opportunities for ongoing supervision, professional development, and growth; contribute to culturally responsive and trauma-informed legal services in partnership with FamAC and Aboriginal Field Officers. The role emphasizes social justice, client-centred practices, and culturally safe legal practice to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
Required Qualifications
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identification
- Australian or NZ citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency
- Possess legal qualification(s)
- Be admitted or eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW
- Provide a current NSW Practising Certificate
- Willingness to travel to regional and metropolitan offices as required
- Be subject to pre-employment checks (Working with Children Check, Criminal Record Check, Conduct Service Check)
