Job Summary
Lead a fee-earning team managing a complex caseload of catastrophic personal injury cases exceeding £500,000, progressing matters from inception to conclusion while assessing liability early to minimize write-offs. Draft court documents, research points of law, and liaise with clients, experts, and insurers to ensure timely commercial progression aligned with KPI targets. Attend court, joint settlement meetings, and case management conferences, including overnight stays when required, while delegating tasks and mentoring assistants. Maintain accurate time recording and case order in accordance with quality assurance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Solicitor, NQ - Grade A/B or CILEX, or with equivalent non-qualified experience
- Proven track record of dealing with serious injury work
- Proven KPI's in fees recovery, time recording and client care
- Experienced at dealing with a diverse range of liability scenarios including EL/PL as well as RTAs and multiple defendants
- Excellent people and client care skills
- Sensitive and professional approach
- Experienced in litigation at both County Court and High Court level
- Sound knowledge of the CPR, litigation process and cost budgeting process
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Commercial approach to litigation and case progression
- Willingness to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
- Flexible in working hours and able to travel
- The ability to work in a team and to mentor other team members
- Good IT skills, especially in respect of Microsoft Office packages
- Able to liaise and work well with other integral teams across the business
- Excellent time management
- Strong commercial awareness
- Willingness to put forward ideas and to engage in brand development, networking events and marketing
