Job Summary
Solenoid Design Engineer role based in Florham Park, NJ: responsible for electromagnetic analysis, coil design, and engineering calculations; prepare engineering documentation including participation in design reviews; conduct product and system level testing in an engineering laboratory following safety practices; support production launch activities for solenoid-based products; contribute to cost reduction projects for existing series products; collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to meet and optimize product design requirements; communicate results clearly and coordinate with team members; support and drive organizational initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in magnetics design
- Proficiency in finite element and magnetic analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell)
- Strong understanding of solenoid design, including pull force calculations, permanent magnet applications, sensors, and circuit simulations
- Experience in designing solenoid driver circuits
- Demonstrated experience building and assembling prototype solenoids for testing and validation
- Strong written, verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
