Job Summary
SolarCorps Workforce Technical Training Fellow engaged with GRID’s workforce team to support workforce development initiatives. Fellows assist in teaching solar and clean energy workshops and labs, promote awareness at local events, recruit and select trainees, assist in trainee installation days, and help document required projects (e.g., DAC-SASH, IREC Accreditation). The role provides hands-on experience in solar installations and program management transferable across renewable energy, education, and nonprofit sectors. The position may involve up to 25% travel and requires strong communication, teamwork, outdoors work, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- 11-month commitment
- AmericanCorps eligibility (U.S. citizen, national, or legal permanent resident for AmeriCorps track)
- Full-time availability
- Excellent communication skills and ability to represent GRID Alternatives positively
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors, on rooftops, and in extreme temperatures
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills
- Interest in renewable energy, community development, and helping families and communities in need
- Availability for an in-person Mid-Year weeklong Career Readiness Retreat in California
- Reliable driving license and clean driving record (for program travel)
