Solar Technician - Noble Solar & Storage

Job Summary

Operate and maintain utility-scale solar equipment including HV systems, inverters, and tracker components while ensuring strict compliance with environmental, health, and safety programs. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical control systems by reading schematics, perform repairs or replacements, and execute preventive maintenance according to manufacturer manuals. Provide quality assessments for third-party contractors, manage warranty claims, and assist the Plant Manager with capital improvements and vegetation management. Set up sites for tooling and inventory, participate in a rotating on-call schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays, and travel to maintain fleet site operations. Must live within 60 miles of the primary plant location in Denton County, TX.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience or power industry training
  • Demonstrated experience in solar facility operations and maintenance including a minimum of 3 years' experience in a broad range of renewable or other power generation development, design, permitting, construction, or operations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Computer skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, email, facility control, management and reporting systems, including the use of computerized diagnostic, and troubleshooting tools
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to take and pass a fit for duty physical
  • Ability to work around low and medium voltage
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Knowledge of equipment required for facility maintenance
  • Proficiency in interpretation of electrical schematics and prints
  • Must live within 60 miles or a 60-minute drive of the primary plant location

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in Solar plant operations or related power plant operations
  • Master or Journeyman electrical license certified through the state of Ohio
  • Experience in high voltage maintenance and switching & ability to run test equipment for troubleshooting
  • Experience establishing and improving preventative maintenance programs
  • Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
