Job Summary
Solar Technician II at AES CE responsible for assigned O&M activities across utility-scale solar PV sites and substations, including corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance; perform switching and clearance orders, ensure safety and environmental compliance, and operate both independently and in crews. The role requires strong technical and interpersonal skills, ability to train and lead field personnel, and may involve travel to Platteview (Yutan, NE) and daily commuting to the Calhoun County Solar site in Albion, MI. Proficiency with electrical/IT equipment, safety standards, and ability to synthesize complex analysis to support decision-makers are valued.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) or more years’ PV O&M experience
- Five (5) or more years’ experience in a power plant and PV O&M or construction
- Knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals (single craft journeyman skills)
- Experience with SunGrow 3150, SunGrow 3600, Nextracker XTR
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Ability to operate a PC with standard business software
- Demonstrated safety awareness and compliance
- Ability to travel to Calhoun County site and Platteview project in NE
