Job Summary
Solar Project Manager responsible for guiding solar energy projects from concept to commissioning, coordinating between engineers, installers, clients, and vendors, managing timelines and budgets, ensuring quality and safety, and aligning the efforts of all parties involved in the installation process. Requires 5+ years’ experience in solar/energy projects or a bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering, valid driver’s license, and OSHA 30 certificate. Travel to project sites is periodic. Responsibilities include negotiating subcontracts and purchase orders, overseeing pay requests and cost projections, reviewing material orders and installation work plans, developing vendor/owner relationships, managing bid analysis and budgets, contract negotiations, handling RFIs and change orders, interfacing with utilities and municipal officials, leading weekly progress meetings, ensuring subcontractor adherence, and coordinating commissioning and final reporting.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience with solar/energy related projects or bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
- Experience dealing with owner contracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work
- Experience leading successful project team, including development of employees and maintaining relationships with clients
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to find creative solutions to complex challenges
- OSHA 30 certificate
