Solar Operations & Maintenance Technician (Level 2)

Solar Operations & Maintenance Technician Level 2 responsible for advanced inspections, preventative maintenance, and core system troubleshooting of solar energy and energy storage systems. Work independently in high-voltage environments, lead junior technicians on-site, and follow a defined development pathway toward Technician III. Key duties include performing comprehensive electrical and mechanical inspections, implementing preventive maintenance (including infrared thermography, insulation resistance testing, and I/V curve tracing), diagnosing and troubleshooting in 600Vac/1500Vdc environments, developing preventative maintenance schedules, producing detailed reports and equipment recommendations, and staying current with industry safety practices and training. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 2 years of solar/electrical experience, proficiency with diagnostic tools (I/V Curve Tracers, Meggers, Isolation testers), ability to read schematics, and valid driver’s license. Certifications such as FAA Part 107 and OSHA NFPA 70e are preferred. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, plus the ability to work independently and mentor others.
