Job Summary
Lead complex inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of solar power plants while ensuring all work adheres to safety policies and proper PPE usage. Create PLOTO and LOTO switch plans, act as work leader for Pre-Job Briefs and Job Safety Analysis, and supervise junior technicians on inspection and maintenance procedures. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex system issues, including grid integration problems, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to develop corrective action plans. Maintain comprehensive documentation of inspections and repairs, prepare technical reports for management, and contribute to training materials. Requires a Colorado Journeyman Electrician license, OSHA 30-hour certification, and 2–4 years of solar industry experience.
Required Qualifications
- US citizen or hold a green card
- 2-4 years of experience in the solar industry or related electrical field
- Valid Colorado Journeyman Electrician license (DORA State Electrical Board)
- OSHA 30-hour and NFPA 70e certifications
- FAA Part 107 Certification (or proficiency operating Drones for Aerial Thermographic purposes)
- Proficient knowledge of electrical systems, solar energy technologies, and grid-tied systems
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools such as I/V Curve Tracers, Meggers, and Isolation testers
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and engineering drawings
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior technicians in the field
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
