Job Summary
Install rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems according to engineering plans by assembling racking, mounting hardware, and inverters while ensuring compliance with NEC and local codes. Prepare job sites through measuring, marking, and staging materials, then interpret blueprints to ensure proper array alignment and spacing. Assist licensed electricians with wiring and conduit runs, conduct site clean-up, and inspect installations for quality before system testing. This hands-on role requires working outdoors at heights, lifting 50+ lbs, and climbing rooftops. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license and possess basic electrical knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work at heights (rooftops, ladders)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting
- Comfortable working on rooftops and uneven terrain
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in: Construction, roofing, electrical, or solar installation (preferred but not required)
- Experience with solar PV installations
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic electrical knowledge or experience assisting electricians
