Job Summary
Develop and support a safety and compliance strategy, ensuring site management has activity-based goals to drive culture and results. Supervise safety staff, design programs to reduce injuries, and execute an Occupational Health & Safety Management System. Lead incident investigations with root cause analysis, facilitate training, and liaise with vendors on hazardous waste. Communicate regulatory changes and best practices to management while assisting with compliance for all agencies. Requires OSHA 510 certification, five years of supervisory experience, and 100% travel. Full-time role in Blue Rock, VA with physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in inclement weather.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED
- OSHA 510
- Five (5) years related supervisory experience in a safety role
- NFPA70E Certified
- F/A CPR AED Certified
- Willing to travel 100%
- Working knowledge of the construction/electrical/gas industry/and HDD industry
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to think strategically and provide strong leadership
- Strong knowledge of applicable regulations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less
- Valid US Driver's license
- Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in related field of study
- OSHA 500
- OSHA 10 and 30 Certifications
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP)
