Job Summary
Lead and coordinate engineering activities for technical support, design, and development of commercial solar and energy storage systems. Hire, supervise, and develop the engineering team while managing relationships with clients, consultants, and vendors. Assess SOPs and workflows, review RFPs and contract documents, and negotiate contracts with outside vendors. Ensure projects complete efficiently, correctly, on schedule, and within budget by reviewing engineering work for accuracy and compliance. Act as a liaison between project management and customers on technical matters. Research latest technologies and best practices to drive improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in engineering
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 2+ years of PV design engineering experience
- 2+ years of engineering management experience
- Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Project management and time management skills
- Expertise in building strong relationships
- Proficiency in understanding solar system design (Heliosocpe, AutoCAD, PVsyst)
- Knowledge of Electric (NEC) and Fire codes
- Experience preparing electrical engineering design packages
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in engineering, electrical preferred
- Battery/Storage experience, preferred
- NABCEP Design Specialist Certification preferred
