Job Summary
Ensure safe work practices in accordance with OSHA, NFPA, and Strata Solar Services policies during regional plant maintenance activities. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on energized electrical parts while troubleshooting DC faults and utilizing tools like multimeters and IR cameras. Supervise Lockout/Tagout activities, complete inspection data in work ticketing software, and conduct acceptance inspections on newly assigned PV plants. Pull data files, troubleshoot communications issues, and provision replacement devices via service tickets. Work in an outdoor environment, travel to remote sites, and maintain on-call availability for off-shift hours and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years experience working with energized AC or DC systems or other relevant experience
- Ability to demonstrate basic working knowledge of electrical theory & PV power generating system fundamentals
- Aptitude for learning and understanding operation of various testing equipment, tools and procedures utilized in the maintenance of PV power generation systems
- Ability to collaborate and coordinate well with peer Technicians and other personnel, vendors, and subcontractors
- Proficiency with MS Office applications to include but not limited to MS Word and Excel, as well as an ability to learn new computer programs without difficulty
- Ability to operate in a professional workmanlike manner consistent with the organization's policies, procedures and vision
- Must be able to work in an outdoor environment
- Must be able to travel occasionally to remote project sites
- Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the entire duration of a shift
- Must be able to stoop, kneel or bend
- Must be able to lift, push or pull 50 lbs overhead repeatedly
- 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction and ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to wear full complement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Must have the ability to travel
- Must be able to work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends
