Solar Design Engineer (Electrical)

Job Summary
Lead the team in basic engineering and conceptualization of power evacuation infrastructure for solar PV plants, battery energy storage, and windfarms, including client and internal coordination. Facilitate cost-to-benefit analysis for renewable energy projects and create a database of costs and technical specifications for primary and secondary equipment. Review EPC proposals for substations and electrical components, assist in negotiation and bid management, and conduct lightning risk assessments, cable sizing, and conductor selection per national and international codes. Prepare design basis reports, general technical specifications, and deliver projects within allocated time and budget.
Required Qualifications
- BE/B.Tech Electrical Engg (mandatory qualification)
- Good communication skills in English
- Knowledge of power system equipment protection, and relay setting calculations and co-ordination studies
- Design knowledge of SCADA architecture for solar PV plants
- Exposure to the on-site for solar and switchyard projects
- Working Knowledge of AutoCAD, ETAP, PVSyst, Sketchup
- Ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies in renewable energy market
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to produce high-quality technical reports within predefined deadline
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of other country grid code
- Knowledge in DC & AC side engineering specifications and standards including IEC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, SEC, IS etc.
