Job Summary
Solar & BESS Technician I based in Kauai, Hawaii, travels from home to distributed and utility-scale solar and battery storage sites to perform preventative and corrective maintenance, coordinate and manage contractors, and support commissioning and warranty activities. The role emphasizes safety, environmental compliance, and cross-functional collaboration within AES Clean Energy’s geographically diverse operations. Ideal candidates have experience with electrical equipment, PV O&M, and Battery Energy Storage systems, with a technical degree or journeyman qualifications, 2+ years in PV O&M and 3+ years in a power-plant context, plus the ability to train others and communicate effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications a plus
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a PV O&M solar technician
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in a power plant
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals (single craft journeyman skills)
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Ability to travel inter-island as needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
