Job Summary
Perform soil injections, root-zone treatments, fertilization, and soil amendments to improve tree health and vigor on residential and commercial properties. Evaluate soil and tree wells for compaction and drainage, then rejuvenate them by removing debris and applying fresh mulch while maintaining proper clearance from trunks. Inspect trees for nutrient deficiencies, stress, disease, or pests, and communicate treatment recommendations and product usage to customers. Maintain injection equipment, vehicles, and company property while documenting all treatments and adhering to safety protocols and pesticide regulations. Work independently in outdoor conditions ranging from hot to cold weather, lifting materials up to 75 lbs. Obtain and maintain a Qualified Applicator License within 90 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift and move equipment, bags of fertilizer, mulch, and other materials weighing up to and over 50 lbs.
- Must pass required MVR, background check, and other pre-employment requirements.
- Clean driving record and ability to be insured by MVN's insurance carrier.
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily service schedule.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow product labels and application instructions.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to recognize common signs of tree stress, pest activity, disease, and nutritional deficiencies.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Qualified Applicator License (QAL) within 60 to 90 days of hire in compliance with applicable Department of Agriculture Pest Management Division requirements.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in tree care, plant health care, horticulture, landscaping, irrigation, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of basic tree health, soil conditions, fertilizers, nutrients, and plant health care practices.
- Experience with soil injection equipment or similar application equipment preferred.
- BS in Agriculture or Horticulture or equivalent experience (preferred).
