Job Summary

Seeking a SOI Qualified Archaeologist / Field Director for cultural resource management projects in the Mojave Desert, Sierra Nevada, and Southern California, overseeing field technicians and conducting archaeological surveys and excavations.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or equivalent discipline
  • Secretary of Interior Qualified
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Field Director/supervisory role
  • Familiarity with standard field equipment such as GPS, compass, shovel and trowel
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to stay at lodging near the project site
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Archaeological experience in California

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with artifact analysis (historic artifacts, lithics, and other archaeological materials)
  • Ability to conduct strenuous fieldwork in various environmental conditions
  • Archaeological experience in Oregon and Washington

Additional Requirements

  • Candidates must be based out of California, Arizona or Nevada
