Job Summary
Lead the design and development of technical requirements for electrical/electronic On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) systems for powertrain applications, ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations. Act as the primary interface between Internal Combustion Engine controls teams and the Technical Safety Regulatory Compliance department, translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable technical specifications. Prepare and deliver technical presentations related to diagnostic systems while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex diagnostic system issues. Define robust Diagnostic Trouble Code strategies and develop OBD checklists for new or modified hardware. Full-time and hybrid work in Valladolid, Spain; no visa sponsorship available.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Automotive, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the automotive industry
- Experience with OBD and SCANTOOL protocols and tools
- Knowledge of ECU calibration and validation
- Basic knowledge of hybrid powertrains and their critical components, including engine ECU, power electronics, DC/DC converter, high-voltage (HV) battery and On-Board Charger (OBC)
- Strong ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex systems
- Good command of English, with the ability to understand technical documentation and communicate effectively in both written and spoken English
- All applicants must have the legal right to work in the country where the position is based
Desired Qualifications
- French is also an advantage
- Knowledge of ASPICE and AUTOSAR
- A valid driving licence
