Job Summary
Analyze, design, and implement software automation projects for industrial machinery while evaluating available solutions against technical specifications, safety standards, and cost constraints. Prototype, build, and deploy innovative robotic solutions directly in the lab's state-of-the-art production facility. Program robots using FANUC, ABB, and Yaskawa systems alongside PLC, HMI, and SCADA software, while applying knowledge of robot mechanics, motion control, and digital twin simulation tools. Located north of Boston, this role supports the company's expansion into automated manufacturing and logistics sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering (Automation, Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent
- Proven experience in automation/robotics
- Knowledge of robot mechanics (direct-inverse kinematics)
- Robot programming (FANUC-ABB-YASKAWA)
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python, C++, Scripting Visual Basic
- PLC programming (Rockwell-Siemens-Codesys)
- HMI programming (Rockwell-Siemens)
- Motion Control
- SCADA software (e.g. Ignition)
- Simulation software and Digital Twin (Unity-Emulate3D)
- Knowledge of Design Patterns and UML
- DBMS
- Web & Mobile applications (Ionic-Angular)
- ROS
