Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Summary
Mentor and guide junior and mid-level QA engineers on test pyramid thinking and automation-first practices. Review and validate requirements early to identify ambiguity, then design test plans across unit, API, integration, and E2E layers matched to risk. Perform exploratory and risk-based testing to surface defects, leading bug management and regression strategy while tracking defect trends. Build and maintain automation frameworks for web, mobile, and API layers using Playwright, TypeScript, and Appium. Own CI/CD quality gate design to ensure automated tests serve as trusted delivery signals. Manage testing efforts across multiple projects under tight deadlines, prioritizing by risk and business impact. Communicate quality metrics and risk clearly to engineering, product, and stakeholders. Participate actively in test planning and sprint ceremonies to embed quality into the definition of done.
Required Qualifications
- Test framework design across unit, component, API, integration, and E2E layers
- API testing including schema validation, contract testing, and error state coverage
- Database and backend service testing for data integrity and reliability
- CI/CD pipeline integration with automated quality gates (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps)
- Mocking, stubbing, and service virtualization for fast, isolated test execution
- Test coverage, monitoring, and observability tooling
- Bug and ticket tracking using JIRA, Azure DevOps, or equivalent
- Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript
- 5+ years of experience
