Job Summary
Lead software process implementation and governance for a large-scale satellite development program across all phases of the software development lifecycle. Incorporate Boeing Enterprise Software Design Practices and process assets into engineering artifacts, documentation, and delivery to customer(s). Guide usage and adoption of these artifacts to ensure adherence while supporting process compliance reviews, technical design reviews, and gate reviews. Design and implement process tooling that generates and collects software metrics required by the measurement plan. Lead software process training to educate teams on new processes and advise management on implementation strategies. This role supports the Boeing Defense, Space & Security organization in developing embedded flight software, simulation software, and DevSecOps environments. The position requires onsite work in El Segundo, CA, and a U.S. Security Clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- 3+ years of experience with systems engineering or software development on space-based or ground-based systems
- 3+ years of experience leading a team either formally or informally, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members
- 3+ years of experience leading projects and/or individuals in software development lifecycle tasks
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
- An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
- U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee status
- Must be able to work onsite at one of the listed location options
- Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 5+ years of related work experience
- 9+ years of directly related work experience
- 13+ years of related, relevant experience
- Proficiency with Boeing Enterprise Software Design Practices (DPs) for mission-critical systems
- Experience in the satellite software domain
- Proficiency with the GitLab ecosystem
- Experience with Agile software development and principles of DevSecOps / Continuous Integration (CI)
- Experience at successfully working with a community of diverse software product owners & systems engineering to instantiate software processes into complex systems
- Experience with U.S. Government contracts
- Experience in implementing and/or auditing of CMMI, AS9100, MIL-STD, and other software standards
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RFM)
- Familiarity with TOR standards
