Job Summary
Own the development roadmap for calibration software, setting engineering milestones and maintaining transparent progress reporting. Lead recruitment and growth of a multidisciplinary team of senior software engineers and quantum device specialists while establishing production-grade software engineering practices. Drive long-term architectural strategy, including high-level package structure and hardware abstraction layer design, alongside technical collaboration and data hands-offs with third parties. This role sits within QuantWare's Product Development Team, where the software stack is critical for QPU development, manufacturing, and deployment.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software leadership experience
- Proven track record of architecting, delivering, and maintaining production-grade software
- Proven engineering management background
- Demonstrated success recruiting, mentoring, and retaining senior software engineers
- Demonstrated success retaining domain specialist engineers
- Deep expertise in the Python ecosystem
- Expertise in modern software architecture principles
- Expertise in modular package structure
- Expertise in third-party interfacing
- Excellent leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with scientific domain experts
- Experience interfacing with physical hardware
- Experience with instrumentation
- Experience with complex scientific systems
