Job Summary

Define technical direction for the front-end platform powering Cisco IQ, owning end-to-end delivery of medium-to-large features from design through production. Mentor engineers through code reviews and establish patterns for AI-assisted development tools like Cursor and GitHub Copilot. Partner with UX, product management, and backend teams to shape metadata-driven UI frameworks and shared component systems. Contribute architectural trade-offs to cross-functional partners while integrating intelligent code generation into daily workflows. This role requires 8+ years of experience in TypeScript/React/Angular and is based in San Jose with a hybrid schedule.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors in a STEM field with 8+ years of experience
  • Master's degree with 6+ years of experience
  • Experience building production web applications with TypeScript or modern JavaScript (ES6+) in a component-based framework (Angular, React, Vue, or similar)
  • Experience architecting and delivering large-scale web applications or multi-team front-end features
  • Experience in front-end architecture principles: component-based design, state management, performance optimization, or design system integration
  • Experience using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent)
  • Experience with reactive state management patterns at scale (e.g., signals-based reactivity, NgRx Signals, Redux, MobX, or equivalent)
  • 3 days a week onsite at our San Jose, Cisco office

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience helping a team adopt AI-assisted development tools effectively
  • Experience building or contributing to metadata- or configuration-driven UI frameworks that decouple data structures from presentation
  • Angular-specific expertise: signals, standalone components, the modern control flow syntax, and the Angular CLI/build ecosystem
  • Experience mentoring engineers through code reviews and design feedback
  • Experience designing or working within Micro Front End (MFE) architectures — module federation, independent deployment strategies, and cross-team component integration
