Job Summary
Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers that design, develop, and verify software applications for medical devices (primarily desktop with minor mobile/web support). You will handle day-to-day technical management (sprint backlog management, assignments, and tracking deliverables), solve complex problems through information gathering and analysis, partner with R&D quality/regulatory/marketing, communicate with stakeholders on operations, and drive best practices to build sustainable software processes. Responsibilities include leading coaching and performance reviews for the team, mentoring engineers and testers, and ensuring collaboration across cross-functional teams to deliver software products in regulated healthcare environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in customer-facing software product development
- 5+ years of experience in managing software development teams
- Experience with languages such as C++, C#, JavaScript, Dart, Python
- Strong understanding of software development and SDLC methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, SAFE)
- Ability to manage projects within a matrix reporting structure
- Experience mentoring and coaching software engineers and testers
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (quality, regulatory, marketing)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
