Software Engineering Manager

Job Summary
Mentor and develop a team of software engineers and testers through goal setting, career planning, and performance management. Provide technical leadership and remove blockers to facilitate the development of embedded Linux and web-based applications using C++, Angular, and TypeScript. Drive continuous improvements in software development processes by collaborating across geographically dispersed CTCT sites. Prioritize and allocate tasks effectively to ensure efficient delivery of software features for earthmoving and paving solutions. This role bridges the gap between leadership and technical execution for a joint venture between Trimble and Caterpillar, focusing on positioning and control products for heavy machinery.
Required Qualifications
- Solid professional experience as a Software Engineer at a Senior or Lead level
- Proficiency in C++ and/or Web Development technologies
- Demonstrated success leading and owning projects from conception to completion
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and proactive problem-solving abilities
- Experience managing projects within fast-paced environments, ideally across multiple time zones
- Location: Christchurch, New Zealand (On-site)
