Job Summary
Lead a software development team (typically 5–10 engineers) to deliver backend features in Java/Spring with Oracle and PostgreSQL, overseeing planning to release. Responsibilities include hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, keeping the team productive, tracking progress, managing risks, and providing technical guidance on design decisions and code quality. Collaborate with QA, product managers, and stakeholders, communicating progress and trade-offs. Balance hands-on technical work with people management, and help drive modernization of legacy systems within a primarily monolithic backend.
Required Qualifications
- Solid background in Java backend development (5–10+ years)
- Min 2 years of experience leading a team
- Experience working on monolithic systems and maintaining existing production codebases
- Good understanding of Spring, relational databases, and backend architecture
