Job Summary
As a Software Engineering Manager for the Maximo team at National Grid, lead the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of Maximo-based business applications, oversee environments and daily operations, drive a continuous delivery release model, and ensure alignment with National Grid standards. Manage engagements with the SI partner, oversee transition to steady-state support for Work Management, Emergency and Outage Management, and Inspections and Maintenance for Electric Operations, and mentor a high-performing team while maintaining SOX controls and budget adherence. Collaborate with business partners to identify requirements, manage finite resources, and deliver enhancements that support strategic objectives. Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, 10+ years in application support with 5+ years in leadership, and extensive Maximo experience including MAS 8/9 in cloud and integration contexts. The role supports a hybrid work structure across NY/MA territories with flexible remote options.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 10+ years of application support experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
- 5+ years of experience managing outsourced IT managed services providers
- Experience supporting IBM Maximo v7.6 or higher with integrations to mobile systems (e.g. Salesforce, CLICK, etc.)
- Experience with Maximo application implementations and upgrades
- Experience delivering fixes/enhancements in Maximo in an agile delivery model with coordination to partner systems
- Experience supporting IBM Maximo MAS 8/9 in a cloud hosted environment (e.g. MS Azure), and knowledge of containerization including Red Hat OpenShift (RHOS) or similar technologies
- Demonstrated experience with database concepts in DB2 or Oracle
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for delivery and environment management
- Experience supporting COTS and other application software solutions with focus on Enterprise Asset Management implementations in mid to large-scale enterprises
- Strong experience with developing or architecting integrations to external systems such as SAP, Salesforce, GIS
