Job Summary
Software Engineering Manager to own and evolve Factored's Software Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE). You will design and deliver scalable operational frameworks for complex software project management and high-impact engineering talent development. This is a people-leadership and operational role focused on coaching Engineering Leads and engineers, partnering with People/Recruiting, supporting technical sales/pre-sales engagements, and scaling the SWE CoE across target roles (AI Engineer, Full-stack, Front-end, Back-end, SDET/Quality, DevOps). Responsibilities include owning CoE processes (recruitment, placement, onboarding, structured career growth), designing scalable process improvements, mentoring engineers, ensuring high-quality delivery across client engagements, resolving escalations, maintaining engineering rigor and quality metrics, cross-functional collaboration, and driving accountability and results. Nice-to-have experiences include consulting or client-facing environments, training program design, exposure to AI/Generative AI use cases, cloud platforms and DevOps practices, and experience scaling teams within a CoE. Required Qualifications
- 10+ years total professional experience
- 5+ years in software engineering (Full-stack, Back-end, Front-end, or Platform engineering)
- 2+ years in leadership roles
- Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal)
- Mastery of software engineering fundamentals (system design, architecture, code quality, testing strategy, end-to-end SDLC ownership)
- Proven track record of delivering high-impact results in fast-paced or ambiguous environments
- Strong project management in agile methodologies, resource planning, and risk mitigation
- Experience mentoring and coaching to develop technical talent
- Strategic problem-solving with rigor in measuring outcomes and engineering quality
- Exceptional stakeholder management, bridging technical execution and business strategy
