Job Summary
Software Engineering Manager to lead multiple agile teams in Lagos, Nigeria. Responsible for mentoring engineers, team leads, and product managers; defining initiatives, timelines, and delivery for web-based SaaS solutions; guiding architecture and security considerations; and driving end-to-end SDLC in a cloud-based environment. Expect leadership in prioritizing workload, balancing technical excellence with ROI, and coordinating with senior leaders to translate vision into executable plans. Candidates should demonstrate hands-on leadership in SaaS architectures, cloud-based deployments, agile/scrum practices, and a track record of building high-performing, cross-functional teams including software engineers and data scientists. The role emphasizes collaboration, strategic planning, and delivering high-quality, scalable software products in a hybrid work setup.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in computer science or related field
- 4+ years of software engineering leadership; managing, architecting and deploying SaaS applications in a cloud-based infrastructure
- 4+ years of experience utilizing agile development and scrum methodologies
- 1-3 years of experience building consumer web and mobile software solutions
- 2-4 years of people management with demonstrated experience in building and motivating large teams
- Understanding of security issues facing SaaS platforms and effective mitigation
- Strong technical background with experience in building next generation architectures and solutions
- Strong organizational, planning, and leadership skills
- Experience with SaaS technologies and delivering high quality products
- Ability to lead, coach, and mentor engineering teams and deliver high quality SaaS products
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with code reviews, architecture, and design discussions
- Experience driving full software development life-cycle and aligning with business goals
