Software Engineering Lead

Job Summary
Lead a team of 5-7 software engineers on iXGuard (C++/LLVM) or DexGuard (Java) in Leuven; own day-to-day development; mentor engineers, foster collaboration, and motivate the team to reach company and personal objectives; set coding standards and best practices for maintainable solutions; work with product teams to translate business needs into technical specifications; implement and enforce testing practices to deliver reliable software; encourage new ideas and own engineering processes to drive continuous improvement; represent Guardsquare’s R&D values, its products and its culture; hybrid work environment with in-person leadership emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Masters in computer science
- 5+ years of experience, of which at least 3 as a Team Lead
- Proven track record of achieving results with teams
- Experience setting performance goals and performing appraisals
- Strong programming fundamentals
- Previous experience with low level programming is an asset
- Deep knowledge of Java or C++ is also a nice plus
- A no-nonsense and pragmatic attitude, continuously raising the bar
- Excellent English communication
- Understanding the value of in-person leadership in a hybrid work environment
