Software Engineering Intern

Job Summary
Design and develop product components including web applications, mobile apps, microservices, REST APIs, and advanced analytics algorithms. Handle coding for assigned projects while maintaining code quality against set guidelines and standards. Test ongoing projects using test-driven development techniques and remove technical impediments. Facilitate code reuse and efficient open source integration. Database design and detailed technical requirements support product goals. Work in roles spanning full-stack development, algorithm development, cyber security, infrastructure engineering, UX/HCI, or analytics. This role offers a learning experience for understanding the development and delivery of a portfolio of products within HOPTEK's growing Engineering and Operations departments.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in a BS/MS program in Computer Science or related majors
- 0-2 years of experience developing web applications, database systems and external micro services
- Eagerness and ability to find creative ways to assemble open source solutions with custom made code into cost effective software solutions
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud-based architecture in the design and deployment of modular software
