Job Summary
Drive the roadmap and lifecycle for all fully outsourced projects, evaluating vendor effectiveness, contractor qualifications, and account manager relationships. Establish communication procedures, enforce code guidelines, and bridge Engineering with third-party firms to ensure consistent delivery. Proactively anticipate resourcing needs, align vendor skillsets with project demands, and manage budgets while facilitating remote team collaboration. Manage the transition of external projects toward internal ownership where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years management experience required (including hiring, promoting, and firing employees)
- Proven record of successfully leading distributed teams
- Experience managing multiple teams and products simultaneously
- Experience working with and processing contracts
- Experience managing budgets and communicating trade-off decisions
Desired Qualifications
- Experience hiring consultants strongly preferred
- Previous experience working as a remote or contract developer preferred
