Job Summary
Software Engineering Advisor within Stratus PBM Technology focused on mainframe developments using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2/SQL, and VSAM. Provides counsel to management on engineering matters, supports full software lifecycle from design through release, and collaborates with onsite and offshore QA teams to define testable scenarios based on requirements. Hands-on development of robust, scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions; participates in daily standups, code reviews, and ensures code quality. Requires 15+ years of experience and a Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in IT-related fields; preferred shell scripting and agile SCRUM leadership skills. Location: Hyderabad, India.
Required Qualifications
- Requires strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2/SQL, and VSAM
- Familiarity with CI/CD and behavior/test-driven development
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalence in Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Technology Management, or related field
- 15+ years of experience developing Stratus and/or Mainframe batch and online applications
- Hands-on Shell Scripting is highly preferred
- Experience with agile methodologies including SCRUM team leadership
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
