Software Engineer - XIL Platform
Remote
Job Summary
Design and architect unified testing frameworks enabling seamless portability across Software-in-the-Loop, Hardware-in-the-Loop, and simulation environments. Build, configure, and maintain physical HIL benches and hardware interfaces like CAN adapters to simulate real-world vehicle conditions. Integrate automated HIL testing directly into Continuous Integration pipelines to ensure code stability and prevent regressions before merging. Collaborate with software teams to identify improvements in HIL infrastructure and CI systems while monitoring runtime performance and system health metrics. This role supports the XIL Platform team's mission to build middleware and testing infrastructure for Glydways' autonomous transit system, ensuring software safety and reliability before vehicles hit the track.
Required Qualifications
- Deep understanding of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and simulation testing strategies, particularly for safety-critical systems
- Proficiency in scripting and test automation languages (e.g., Python, C++, and Bash) to build robust, scalable testing frameworks
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD best practices and principles
- Hands-on ability to troubleshoot physical test benches, including reading electrical schematics and using lab tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and PCAN adapters
- Experience using infrastructure-as-code and environment management tools (specifically Nix, or similar tools like Docker/Ansible) to ensure reproducible test environments
Desired Qualifications
- Direct experience with Buildkite
