Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain software applications to support operational and IT system needs, including custom scripts, queries, macros, and analytics tools for performance tracking. Write, test, debug, and optimize code throughout the software development lifecycle while contributing to enterprise IT solutions, system deployment, and data integration across Navy IT environments. Build dashboards and reporting tools, assess application performance, and create interactive training materials. Participate in program reviews, technical discussions, and governance meetings to drive modernization initiatives and solution development.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Onsite in Portsmouth, VA
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related discipline
- 4–7 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data management
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate degree in a related technical discipline
- Extensive experience (8–10+ years) in software engineering
- Experience working with Navy IT systems or other large-scale, defense-related IT environments
- Experience with database development and SQL programming
- Background in web-based application development and data visualization tools
- Experience supporting complex, large-scale IT programs
- Familiarity with enterprise maintenance or operations systems
- Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments
