Job Summary
Software Engineer (L2) to help build and scale Twilio/Stytch’s identity platform backend on Twilio, shipping new API surfaces and core authentication flows for a developer-first identity experience. You’ll partner with Product and Engineering leadership to translate customer needs into platform capabilities, collaborate across teams to align on architecture, own design decisions, and deliver high-impact roadmap features. You’ll work in a startup-like, high-ownership environment backed by Twilio’s scale, focusing on authentication/authorization, developer experiences, observability, and production reliability. Responsibilities include building backend capabilities, mentoring teammates, and contributing to a resilient, scalable platform. Qualifications emphasize cloud-based production systems, RESTful APIs, and a Bachelor’s degree in CS or related experience; location is US remote with occasional travel. The role supports non-standard schedules and on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in designing, building and operating high-scale, mission critical cloud based production systems.
- Familiarity with a production-grade code base in a modern programming language.
- Extensive experience with RESTful API design and development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related industry experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Schedule: ability to work non-standard, on-call rotation weekend and holiday hours.
