Job Summary
In this role as a Software Engineer Tech Lead, you will oversee the development and maintenance of CLAWS, bp's regulatory reporting system. Responsibilities include designing sophisticated backend components, services, and Restful APIs, while supporting front-end component design and system integration. You will continuously review services for improvements, mentor colleagues, and influence the product roadmap to deliver business value. Successful candidates will have extensive IT experience, strong software engineering skills, hands-on expertise in C# (.Net Core), React, SQL Server, and AWS services, along with excellent communication and mathematical skills.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience in the IT industry designing, planning, implementing, maintaining, and documenting solutions
- Experience working with small teams of bright people
- Proficiency in Software Engineering development techniques and best practices like TDD, BDD
- Strong Software Engineering Design capabilities and understanding of Computational Complexity
- Strive for excellence and continuous improvement in software architecture, software delivery and best practices
Desired Qualifications
- Hands on experience in C# (.Net Core) or the React eco-system, TypeScript and Javascript
- Database design and knowledge of SQL Server
- Experience working with AWS services including but not limited to ECS with Fargate, SQS/SNS, Lambda Functions, CDK Stack and CloudWatch
- Strong communication skills with ability to present ideas well graphically as well as verbally
- Strong mathematical and numeracy skills
