Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer (Level 3) leading the design, implementation, and improvement of distributed application orchestration on a Kubernetes-native platform in a classified environment. Responsibilities include leading development of reusable Helm charts and GitOps templates, designing scalable Kubernetes workflows (multi-tenant/multi-cluster), building event-driven architectures with Kafka, creating Go/Python controllers, contributing to platform-wide architecture decisions, and mentoring junior engineers. The role requires infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible), secure deployments in a TS/SCI environment with Full Scope Polygraph, and adherence to DISA STIGs for containerized deployments.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph - must be active prior to start.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience in cloud-native, Kubernetes-based, or distributed systems contexts.
- Deep experience coding in Go and/or Python.
- Strong Kubernetes expertise: CRDs, Helm, GitOps, multi-tenant deployments.
- Experience with event-driven or agent-based systems (Kafka, controller patterns).
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible).
- Demonstrated end-to-end system component delivery ownership.
- Proven mentorship and technical leadership capability.
- Balance automation with operator oversight in classified environments.
