Job Summary
Design, architecture, and development of simulation models, visualization, virtual environments and frameworks to enhance test performance, safety and durability of software and hardware systems; collaborate with stakeholders to identify simulation requirements and dynamics; perform design, modeling, simulation, testing and analysis to assess and optimize system performance across Defence platforms; initial focus on Simulation Programmes across Air, Land and Maritime domains with potential breadth across Software Engineering portfolio; requires strong C++ and Lua scripting skills, familiarity with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, testing practices, and the ability to obtain UK security clearance; location in Fleet or Bristol with a minimum in-office presence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Ability to obtain security clearance
- Proficiency in C++ or Lua scripting
- Familiarity with Physics-based Modelling and Simulation system Engineering principles
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git, BitBucket)
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- Familiarity with DevOps, Automation and CICD concepts
- Understanding of testing frameworks and unit testing practices
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and software design principles
